Ingrid Danielsen works from a studio outside Tórshavn, painting abstract oils built from the colour of the North Atlantic — the long grey of a fog bank, the short, bright weather that follows a storm.
"Most days the palette is basalt and fog. A few days a year it isn't, and those are the paintings I'm chasing."
Trained in Copenhagen and Glasgow before returning to the Faroe Islands, Danielsen's work moves between near-monochrome studies and dense, saturated pieces — often within the same year, sometimes the same week, depending on what the weather gave her.
Her paintings are held in private collections across Scandinavia and the UK. This is the first time her full catalogue has been shown online.
